What is happening at the forefront of Group ND

WE WANT YOU TO JOIN US IN 2026

Next year may seem some time away but it is time to plan your motorsport calendar for 2026! But here at Group ND Touring Cars we are making plans already for 2026 and are looking to support our local event organisers here in South East Queensland.

Warwick District Sporting Car Club have supported the idea of forming Group ND since 2021 - we'd like to now return this support and get a solid grid of competitors together for next years Queensland Super Sprint Series (QSSS) at Morgan Park Raceway.

As previously posted on our Facebook page we are looking for 12 to 16 cars to come together and form the Group ND grid.  We've had interest from a few V8 competitors but we need a solid field of cars across the capacity ranges. So where are you Escort, Alfa Romeo, Corolla, Celica, Datsun, FIAT, Gemini, Volvo, Rover, Triumph owners?

The plan is to get all our names together and approach Warwick District Sporting Car Club with our preferred series (A, B or C). We know dates are not yet published but they will be soon.

Please let us know if you'd like to join our grid and relive the glory days of touring car racing here in Australia. Discussions with AHTCA - an update July 2025

Critical to getting Motorsport Australia ('MA') approval and regulation of any proposed Group Nd Requirement and Specific Requirements is gaining the support of the Australian Historic Touring Car Association ('AHTCA'). For those not familiar with AHTCA (https://www.historictouringcars.com.au/ ), they are the national body for 5th Category touring cars in Australia.

Back in April this year we mentioned on the Group Nd Touring Cars Facebook page that this is an ongoing process that originally commenced in October 2024. Discussions at the time in April had involved making a presentation at a regular meeting of AHTCA (by Zoom) that outlined our vision, objectives and basic proposal.  Since then AHTCA have shared information and held discussions with each of their State Representatives who have also now been in discussion with their respective State club committees and members.
